This program is tentatively schedule for a face to face meeting.  It may be postponed or cancelled if necessary as related to the COVID-19 situation.

Program Description:

“Active Survival.” A frightening phrase – in the workplace as much as anywhere else. Many people have been taught to simply "hide" under a desk when there is an armed intruder in the building. Others have been encouraged to "fight" a gunman. But time and again, we’ve found these recommendations to be inadequate.

Ideally Active Survival is an active threat response plan designed to empower individuals with life-saving survival skills. Skills that translate to a workplace, school, place of worship, healthcare facility, shopping mall or any other location in where an active threat is possible.

Please join us for a presentation that will include in-class demonstrations and discuss practical responses to an active threat situation.

The topics will include:

  • Lessons learned from prior events
  • Evolution of law enforcement response to an active threat
  • Warning signs
  • Human response to stress
  • ABC’S Active Threat Response Plan (Avoid, Barricade, Counter, Survive)
  • Bleeding control
  • How to react when law enforcement arrives
